A billet aluminum replacement for the OEM front passenger-side KDSS fixed link. It swaps the factory rubber bushing for a fully greaseable Delrin bushing system, so the front sway bar and suspension cycle freely instead of fighting built-up tension. Fits 2010+ 4Runner, GX460 and Prado 150 — KDSS-equipped vehicles only.

Why It Exists

The OEM front KDSS link uses a large rubber bushing torqued to 110 ft-lbs at ride height. Once torqued, that bushing is essentially locked in place — as the suspension cycles it resists rotation, tension builds in the link, and the suspension deflects instead of moving freely. Disconnect your sway bar and try rotating the OEM link by hand: it barely moves. This billet link removes that bind.

Features

  • Eliminates restriction from the OEM rubber bushing
  • Smoother front suspension articulation and sway bar cycling under load
  • Reduces stored tension during suspension movement
  • Maintains proper KDSS system function
  • Greaseable, serviceable pivot point
  • Integrated pilot hole for optional safety wire
  • Developed over 3+ years and 25,000+ hard miles — Baja race support, Baja tours, and SoCal high desert

Design & Specs

  • CNC-machined from thick 6061 billet aluminum, anodized
  • Fully greaseable Delrin bushing — controlled rotation without rubber bind
  • Weight: 2.1 lbs
  • Dimensions: 8.5" L × 4.5" W × 1.25" thick
  • Marine grease or high-temperature performance grease recommended

What's Included

  • (1) Billet front KDSS fixed link
  • (2) M12 × 1.25 × 50mm bolts
  • (2) M12 × 1.25 Stover locking nuts
  • (2) M12 washers (used only with older round-bushing setups)
  • All hardware clear zinc coated

Torque Specs

  • Top main bolt (link to frame): 110 ft-lbs — Loctite or safety wire recommended
  • Vertical M12 sway bar bolts: 85 ft-lbs — no Loctite required (Stover nuts)
  • Mark bolts after torquing for visual inspection

Install Notes

  1. Remove the front skid plate for maximum clearance.
  2. Support the sway bar with a hydraulic floor jack.
  3. Remove the two vertical sway bar bolts and the top frame bolt.
  4. Lower the sway bar no more than 3/8" — the driver-side KDSS strut will begin to extend.
  5. Remove the OEM link.
  6. Pre-grease the outside of the sleeve and the inside diameter of the Delrin bushing.
  7. Install the billet link with the zerk fitting and pilot hole facing forward, and the sleeve bevel facing the inside of the frame.
  8. Before final torque, inject grease until it exits the bushing. Minor bushing spread is normal and compresses at full torque.
  9. Torque all bolts to spec. Safety wire is recommended on the main bolt.
