The Dr KDSS B.O.T.C.K. (Bolt-On Track Bar Correction Kit) for the 1st Gen Toyota Sequoia raises the axle-side track bar pivot to flatten the track bar angle after a lift. The result: a rear end that tracks straight, stays planted, and feels predictable on-road and off — with zero welding.

Why It Matters

Lifting a solid rear axle steepens the track bar (panhard bar) angle. A steep bar pushes the axle side-to-side as the suspension cycles instead of letting it move straight up and down, and the rear feels vague and unstable. Raising the pivot point levels the bar and brings handling back to normal.

Standard vs. Shorty — Pick the Right One

  1. Park on level ground.
  2. Measure from the ground to the center of the frame-side track bar bolt.
  3. Measure from the ground to the center of the axle-side track bar bolt.
  4. Subtract the two measurements to get your bolt-height difference:
    • 1.5"–2.99" → Shorty (or use the bottom hole on the Standard bracket)
    • 3" or more → Standard (use the top hole)

Torque Specs

  • OEM bolt hole location: 105 ft-lbs
  • All remaining bolts: 125 ft-lbs
  • Blue Loctite on all bolts and nuts (if using red, use very little)

Tools Needed

  • Floor jack and jack stand
  • Large adjustable or plumber's wrench
  • 18mm, 19mm and 21mm sockets or wrenches (possibly 22mm — OEM bolt head sizes vary)
  • Torque wrench
  • Bungee or strap

Install Notes

Read all steps before starting. Installation is easiest with the vehicle on its own weight — it's much harder with the truck hanging on a lift.

  1. Jack up the bracket side of the axle until the tire is just light, remove the wheel, and support the body on a jack stand.
  2. Loosen the driver-side track bar bolt — don't remove it.
  3. Remove the axle-side track bar bolt, swing the track bar up, and strap it out of the way.
  4. Insert the back bracket (with the long welded sleeve and welded nut) into the OEM pocket. Open the OEM bracket slightly with a large wrench if needed.
  5. Insert the flag nut into the OEM bracket from the bottom opening, nut facing up, roughly lined up with where the main bracket hole will sit.
  6. Install the main bracket over the OEM mount using the longest supplied bolt at the OEM hole — 3–4 turns only.
  7. Thread one 35mm bolt into the flag nut from underneath, 3–4 turns.
  8. Thread the second 35mm bolt into the side of the bracket, 3–4 turns.
  9. Drop the track bar in with the 75mm bolt and nut. Raise or lower the jack to help align it.
  10. Tighten in sequence: OEM bolt hole first, then the side and bottom bolts, then the main track bar bolt. Blue Loctite at all locations.

Notes

  • Standard-height brackets can contact the frame at full suspension compression — true of every bracket of this type. Longer bump stops or bump stop spacers solve it, or run the Shorty.
  • Install is the same as the 3rd Gen Tundra B.O.T.C.K.
