Dr KDSS Rear KDSS Sway Bar Drop Kit with 7075 Billet Fixed Link | 2010-2024 4Runner & GX460
An upgraded rear KDSS drop solution. It replaces the OEM passenger-side fixed KDSS link with a longer, stronger 7075 billet aluminum link while keeping a spacer on the driver-side KDSS strut — the same goal as rear KDSS drop spacers, done in a stronger, safer, more trail-resilient way. Fits 2010+ 4Runner, GX460 and Prado 150 with KDSS.
Why It Exists
KDSS trucks are being wheeled harder than ever. Drop off a ledge or land on a rock and the OEM passenger-side fixed link can take a direct hit. When it bends, the sway bar goes out of alignment — and that misalignment can stress or damage the KDSS shock shaft. This billet link removes that failure point entirely.
Features
- Replaces the weak OEM fixed passenger-side KDSS link
- Maintains correct sway bar position at full droop
- Prevents sway bar misalignment that can damage the KDSS strut
- Allows full rear droop with extended-travel shocks
- Keeps the KDSS strut piston within its OEM operating range
- Clears up to a 285/70/17 spare tire in the factory location
- CNC-machined 7075 billet aluminum, significantly stronger than the OEM steel link
- Black anodized finish
Kit Options
- Billet Fixed Link + Driver-Side Spacer — the complete upgraded setup, built for harder use
- Billet Fixed Link Only — for owners already running two rear drop spacers
- Rear KDSS Drop Spacers (Pair) — the simple, proven spacer solution
- Rear KDSS Drop Spacer (Single) — for owners who already have the link
What's Included (Billet Link)
- (1) 7075 billet fixed link
- Pre-installed 3/4" Pro Bearing uniball with snap ring
- (2) M10 × 1.25 × 60mm flange head bolts (clear zinc)
- (2) M10 × 1.25 locking nuts
- (2) Stainless steel high-misalignment spacers
- (2) Washers — use with the locking nuts on older round bushings with thinner caps; not needed with updated (typically 2018+) thicker bushings and caps
Compatibility
- KDSS-equipped vehicles only
- Works only with Dr KDSS or Treaty Oak 2" rear drop spacers
- Not compatible with other or unknown spacer brands
Install Notes
- Best installed with the vehicle on its own weight; rear axle on jack stands is fine for extra room
- Support the rear sway bar at the center with a hydraulic floor jack
- Vehicles 2–3+ years old or from high-salt areas: soak the bolts with penetrating oil a few days ahead — these bolts are known to seize and break
- Support the rear sway bar with a floor jack.
- Unbolt the driver-side KDSS strut bolts and passenger-side fixed link bolts (14mm). If spacers are already installed, remove only the passenger-side bolts.
- No spacer yet? Lower the sway bar until the KDSS strut is fully extended and the spacer fits, then jack the bar up until the bushing contacts the strut and install the strut-side hardware — 70 ft-lbs with blue Loctite.
- Remove the OEM fixed link (and old spacer, if equipped) and install the billet link. Torque the top frame-side bolt to 90 ft-lbs with blue Loctite.
- Jack the sway bar back into position until the passenger-side bushing contacts the billet link, then install the lower hardware at 70 ft-lbs. Locking nuts are included — no Loctite needed on the vertical bolts.
- Add torque marks for quick visual inspection after use.

Important Note on KDSS Lean
KDSS drop kits — from any manufacturer — are not designed to fix or prevent KDSS lean. Lean is caused by an imbalance in the KDSS hydraulic system, not by sway bar position, links, or suspension geometry.
