When it comes to off-roading the ability to add a winch to your vehicle is a must, however most options that allow for the addition of a winch for the 3rd Generation Tacoma consist of full steel bumpers that weight close to 200lbs by themselves. After adding a winch and light bar weights come in at around 240lbs+, and most people who daily drive their vehicles don’t want to add that much weight.

CBI Off Road took this into consideration with their Covert Series Front Bumper for the 3rd Gen Tacoma, which allows for both the addition of a winch and light bar, at nearly half the weight.

Weighing in at only 75lbs, the Covert Series Front Bumper is able to mount directly to the frame with minimal cutting of the front bumper, while giving you the ability to mount both a winch and light bar. With both the winch and light bar added you are looking at a total weight of about +140lbs. This is still way under what most full steel bumper options weigh.

The Covert Series Front Bumper also allows for a bolt on grille guard if this is something important to you. This is a nice feature for those who may want a guard, but later change their mind, or those who may not want to sacrifice their TSS system.
